For many of us, taking meaningful action on the biodiversity crisis is complex and difficult. Our crowdfunded nature reserve model makes it easy to have a real, measurable impact on nature, whether you live in a city or in the countryside.

From as little as £10 a year, you can join our project to restore Scottish biodiversity. As well as being able to pinpoint the exact piece of habitat you’ve funded, you’ll receive regular updates on the species that have been attracted to your habitat, as well as tips on how to enhance your own garden for maximum biodiversity. Plus, you’ll join a community of like-minded individuals who are also committed to making a positive impact on the environment.

Where is this habitat?

The Blackhills Nature Reserve began life as 90 hectares of derelict farmland near Peterhead in North-East Scotland. Where others might have seen a wasteland, The Habitat People saw a local biodiversity success story waiting to happen. Your purchase will enable us to restore the nature that once thrived here, establishing rich wildflower meadows, nurturing the woods back to their full potential, and creating habitat for native wildlife to return and flourish.
